Sam Faiers and Billie Shepherd 'so excited' as they announce major 'first' (2025)

The reality show sisters made the announcement on their social media

Sam Faiers and Billie Shepherd had some "exciting" news to share with fans as they get ready to make their return to the small screen.

After first finding fame on The Only Way Is Essex, Sam decided to quit her most recent television show, The Mummy Diaries, back in 2021.

At the time, she broke the news on Instagram. "To my wonderful followers and supporters of The Mummy Diaries over the past 7 years, after many months of consideration, I've decided that now feels like the right time to step away and to focus on new adventures

"‘I truly have watched all the most defining moments in my adult life play out on The Mummy Diaries - bringing two beautiful children into the world, my relationship with Paul, building my businesses, creating a home together as a family, and of course all the wonderful memories with Billie and my family."

Her sister Billie also starred in the reality show, but at the time Sam explained her family "needed a break" from the cameras.

Now, the sisters are teaming up once again to star in their new ITV show, Sam & Billie: Sister Act. It'll follow them through their personal and professional lives as they try and juggle their careers and relationships.

While there's been no confirmation date yet, it will be expected to air on ITV2 later this year.

Taking to her Instagram, Sam posted a video of her and Billie with the caption "We're back!", and wrote: "We’re so excited to be back together for a brand new series, Sam & Billie: Sister Act! It’s our first time on screen as a duo since Sam & Billie: The Mummy Diaries ended in 2021.

"Since then, Billie continued with Billie & Greg: The Family Diaries, and now we’re reuniting to give a fresh look into our lives. The new series will follow us as we navigate our careers, motherhood, and relationships – and we can’t wait to share this next chapter with you all".

Fans and loved ones were quick to flood the comments with support, as @zoevanessa94 wrote: "Omg buzzing!!! Loved you both ever since Sam’s first show after stopping towie the original mummy diaries! Can’t wait"

Since The Mummy Diaries ended, Sam launched her ingestible skincare brand Revive Collagen and Billie focused on a new show with her husband, Billie & Greg: Family Diaries.

The series ended last year as Billie shared: "We always said that when Nelly goes to secondary school it’ll be time to call it a day, we just thought, we’ve had the best time and we’re going out on a high.

"The kids are getting older and I want them to do whatever they want to do and not be worried about the pressure of filming. Secondary school is a massive jump and there are quite a few different factors – it’s the right decision for us."
